GTA 6: Rockstar Sets the Stage for Its Biggest Reveal Yet
oldninja · 2 hours ago

The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is entering its final stretch, and Rockstar Games is preparing to give fans another major look at the most anticipated game in the industry.
Rockstar has announced “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look,” which will premiere on Netflix on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET before becoming available on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the official GTA 6 website later that day.
While Rockstar has not officially confirmed exactly what the presentation will contain, the announcement has sparked widespread speculation that fans could finally get a much deeper look at gameplay. Reports note that the company has yet to provide a dedicated gameplay showcase, making the upcoming extended look particularly significant.
A Launch Date Is Finally Locked In
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar says the additional development time is being used to deliver the level of polish expected from the series.
The game will take players back to Vice City and the wider fictional state of Leonida, with protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos at the center of the story.
Pre-Orders Are Already Huge
GTA 6 is generating enormous commercial interest months before launch. Take-Two Interactive has described pre-orders as “unprecedented”, although the company has chosen not to publish specific pre-order numbers because the behavior is so unusual that traditional sales comparisons may not be meaningful.
The game starts at $79.99 for the Standard Edition, while the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 in the US. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has defended the pricing, arguing that Rockstar intends to deliver significantly more value than the game's price suggests.
The PC Question Remains
One major question is still unanswered: when will GTA 6 arrive on PC?
Rockstar has officially announced the November launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but there is currently no announced PC release date. That means PC players may have to wait beyond the console launch for an official announcement.
August 27 Could Be a Huge Day for Gaming
With GTA 6 now less than three months away from release, the upcoming extended look could become one of the biggest gaming reveals of 2026.
Whether Rockstar uses it to showcase extended gameplay, introduce more of Leonida, or reveal new details about Jason and Lucia, one thing is certain: the GTA 6 hype cycle is about to get even bigger.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
