Pending, Held or Credited: How Long an Offer Really Takes to Pay
September 25, 2026
The most common support message any rewards site gets is some version of "I finished the offer, where are my points?" — and most of the time the answer is that nothing has gone wrong yet. The offer is in a review window that nobody told you about.
This guide fixes that. It covers the four states an offer can be in on XPReward, how long each offer type realistically takes, why the delays exist at all, and the point at which waiting stops being reasonable and you should raise it.
The four states
Every offer completion on XPReward is recorded in a ledger with one of four states. Nothing is ever silently dropped, and you can see the state of every earn event in your Wallet.
| State | What it means | What you should do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | We know about your completion. The advertiser has not finished validating it. | Wait out the window for that offer type. |
| Credited | Validated and paid. The points are in your balance and spendable. | Nothing. |
| Held | Recorded, but not paid, because it tripped a cap or a fraud check. | Contact us — it is recorded, not lost. |
| Reversed | It was credited, then the advertiser took it back. | See the reversal section below. |
The distinction that matters most is pending vs held. Pending is the normal waiting room and resolves itself. Held means a human needs to look at it, and it will sit there until someone does — so a held entry is the one worth messaging us about straight away.
Why the delay exists at all
Advertisers do not pay for a completion the instant you finish. They pay after they have confirmed it is real, because the whole category is a target for fraud, and because some conversions get charged back later — a trial cancelled, a purchase refunded, an install uninstalled within hours.
So the money moves in stages: you complete, the advertiser validates, the offerwall network confirms to us, we credit you. Every stage adds latency, and the higher the payout, the more scrutiny it gets. High-value offers are held longest precisely because they are worth defrauding.
That is not a rule any one site invented — it is how the industry protects itself against reversals, and it is why nobody can credibly promise instant crediting on a $40 offer.
Realistic timings by offer type
These are typical ranges across offerwall networks, not a guarantee. The offer itself is the authority — if it states a window, believe the offer over this table.
| Offer type | Typical time to credit |
|---|---|
| Survey (completed, not screened out) | Minutes to a few hours |
| App install and open | Minutes to a few hours |
| Free sign-up or registration | A few hours to 24 hours |
| Trial, subscription or quiz offer | 24 to 72 hours |
| Game milestone (reach level X) | 1 to 7 days, sometimes longer |
| Purchase-required or high-value offer | Up to 30 days, by design |
The last row is the one that surprises people. A very high-value offer held for 30 days is usually working exactly as intended — that window covers the advertiser's refund and chargeback period. It is not a stalling tactic on our side, and the points are not gone.
Multi-stage offers: the stage you skipped
Game offers that pay on a milestone are the single biggest source of "it never credited" reports, for a boring reason: people stop one stage short.
A typical milestone offer has a chain — install, open, complete tutorial, reach level 12, within 14 days. Every link has to happen, in order, on the same device, tracked. If the tracking broke at install, nothing downstream counts no matter how far you play.
Before you wait: re-read the offer requirements and check you actually hit the final stage, including any time limit. Our guide to picking offers worth your time covers how to read these before you start.
What "reversed" means
A reversal is the advertiser withdrawing a conversion after it was credited. It happens when a purchase is refunded, a trial is cancelled inside the qualifying window, an app is uninstalled immediately, or the advertiser's own fraud review rejects it later.
It is uncommon, and it is visible: the reversal appears in your ledger as its own entry rather than your balance quietly changing. If you see one you do not recognise, contact us with the entry and we will trace it back to the provider record.
When to stop waiting
Raise it when:
- A survey or simple offer has not credited after 24 hours.
- A sign-up, trial or quiz offer has not credited after 72 hours.
- A game milestone offer has not credited after 7 days, and you are certain you hit the final stage.
- Any offer shows as held — do not wait on this one at all.
- The offer's own stated window has passed, whatever it said.
Before you write in, run through what to do when an offer is not crediting. It catches the causes you can fix yourself, which is most of them.
What to include when you raise it
A ticket with evidence gets resolved. A ticket without it usually cannot be, because we have nothing to send the provider. Include:
- Which offerwall — CPX Research, AdGate, Lootably or Torox.
- The exact offer name as it appeared on the wall.
- The date and rough time you started and finished.
- The account or username you registered with inside the offer, if it asked for one.
- Screenshots: the confirmation screen, the confirmation email, or your in-game level and account name.
- Your device and browser, and whether anything was blocking scripts.
Send it through Contact. We hold the transaction record on our side, which is what lets us chase the provider with something concrete.
How to have fewer of these
- Disable ad blockers and privacy extensions before clicking, not after.
- No VPN, ever — see why offerwall accounts get banned.
- One offer at a time, finished on the device it was started on.
- Screenshot as you go, not after you notice a problem.
- Prefer offers that credit fast until you know tracking works for you.
FAQ
How long do offers take to credit on XPReward?
Surveys and simple offers are usually minutes to hours. Trials and sign-ups are typically 24 to 72 hours. Game milestones take days. High-value offers can be held up to 30 days by design.
My offer says pending. Is it lost?
No. Pending means we have the completion and the advertiser has not finished validating. It resolves on its own or converts to a credit.
What is the difference between pending and held?
Pending is a normal wait. Held means it was stopped by a cap or fraud check and needs a person to look at it — message us about a held entry rather than waiting.
Can points be taken back after they are credited?
Yes, if the advertiser reverses the conversion — a refunded purchase or a cancelled trial. It shows in your ledger as a separate reversal entry.
Why do high-value offers take the longest?
Because they carry the most chargeback and fraud risk, so the advertiser holds them through its own refund window first.
Does contacting support speed it up?
For a pending offer inside its window, no. For a held entry or an offer past its window, yes — that is exactly when to ask.
