XPReward vs Mistplay: Playing Mobile Games vs Completing Offers
October 5, 2026
Mistplay is probably the best-known "get paid to play games" app. XPReward also pays gamers, but in a different way, and in different currency. If you are choosing between them, the real question is whether you want to be paid for time spent playing mobile games or for completing specific tasks. Here is an honest comparison.
How each one works
Mistplay is a mobile app, launched in 2016. On Android, you install games from Mistplay's list and launch them through the app. It tracks your playtime and pays you in Units, its own currency. Some games pay Units faster than others. The iPhone version (available in the US and Canada since 2025) works differently: it mostly pays for reaching in-game milestones, plus tournaments and surveys, rather than raw playtime.
XPReward is a website. You earn points by completing offers and surveys from four offerwalls (CPX Research, AdGate, Lootably and Torox). Many offers are "install this game and reach level X", but there are also surveys, sign-ups and app trials. There are also referral rewards and paid Gaming Hub contributions. Points redeem for Steam, PSN and Xbox gift cards and game keys.

Where Mistplay wins
- A much smaller first payout. About $5 versus XPReward's $25. You find out whether Mistplay works for you much sooner. XPReward's floor is high, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. See our points value explainer.
- Passive earning. If you already play mobile games for fun, Mistplay pays you for what you would do anyway, as long as you play games from its list.
- Wider payout menu, including Amazon and PayPal-style options in some regions.
Where XPReward wins
- PC and console rewards. Mistplay's catalogue is aimed at mobile players. If what you want is a Steam game, PSN credit or Xbox credit, XPReward pays out in exactly that.
- No phone required. XPReward works in a browser, and many surveys and offers can be done on a PC.
- Individual offers can pay much more. A single high-paying game offer can be worth more than many hours of Mistplay playtime. The trade-off is that offers have strict conditions and can take time to credit.
- You choose the work. Mistplay limits you to its game list and its earning rates. Offerwalls let you pick what is worth your time. Our guide to picking offers explains how.
What Mistplay actually pays per hour
Most independent tests in 2026 find that Mistplay pays well under a dollar an hour of playtime, and the first $5 typically takes a few weeks of casual play. Units are worth roughly $0.001 to $0.003 each, depending on which reward you choose. That is fine if you would be playing anyway. It is poor if you are playing only to earn.
XPReward's rate depends on which offers are available in your country and which you complete. Some sessions earn several dollars an hour; some earn nothing because surveys keep disqualifying you. Our honest earnings breakdown explains the range.
The things neither will tell you up front
- Both depend on advertisers. Mistplay and offerwalls are both paid by game publishers to bring them players. Rates go up and down with advertiser budgets.
- Both can be slow to the first payout, Mistplay because Units add up slowly and XPReward because the floor is $25.
- Both care about fraud. VPNs, emulators and multiple accounts get users banned on Mistplay and on offerwalls.
Use both?
They work well together. Mistplay pays for casual mobile play. XPReward's offerwalls pay much more for reaching specific in-game goals. An offer's game is often one you would not have tried otherwise, and you can keep playing it afterwards.
Which should you choose?
- You play mobile games daily and want something for it: Mistplay.
- You are on iPhone outside the US or Canada: not Mistplay. XPReward works in any browser.
- You want Steam, PSN or Xbox credit specifically: XPReward.
- You want a payout this month with very little effort: Mistplay's $5 floor is easier to reach.
If PC or console gift cards are what you are after, you can create an XPReward account and see which offers are available in your country before deciding.
FAQ
Is Mistplay legit?
Yes. It has been running since 2016 and pays out real gift cards. The main complaints are a slow earning rate and occasional missing Units.
Can I use Mistplay on PC?
No. It is a mobile app. XPReward works on PC and mobile browsers.
Do XPReward's game offers work like Mistplay?
Partly. Both pay you for playing games, but an offer pays a fixed amount for reaching a stated goal, while Mistplay pays a rate for time played.
